Path to the Sea, Inishowen

After my home district, the Inishowen Peninsula in north Donegal (Inis Eoghain, meaning “island of Eoghan”), is probably my favourite location for painting.  Its most northerly point Malin Head gives its name to the Malin sea area which is mentioned in The Shipping Forecast.  This Atlantic region has very fast-changing weather patterns and an ‘edge of the world’ feel – something I’ve tried to convey in this painting.
